CAREERS FAIRS WANDSWORTH

ROAD SHOW

Pan Out hosts stands at various School Careers Fairs, where Hospitality Employers are able to have direct contact with school pupils and teaching staff about their experiences and the Hospitality sector in general. The employers are able to have informal conversations with the school children about career opportunities and paths – and show that there are a huge variety of roles within the sector. These seem to be particularly useful for older students who are looking for alternatives to higher education and want to learn as they work, or who are looking for their future profession once they leave education.

A number of employers have been involved with these, speaking with school children not only about Pan Out but also about potential career opportunities that exist in their own organisation. Employers included the Royal Air Force, Taj Hotels St James Court London, The Kennel Club, Dakshas Gourmet Catering and Learn Train Recruit. Schools that engaged with the process were Chestnut Grove Academy, Graveney School and Southfields Academy.

As a result of one such event the school is keen to continue to develop their relationship with Daksha who is excellent at engaging young people and staff. Over 2000 students were met during the career fairs.

“Daksha spoke with great passion…we would have given her more publicity and a more high profile spot if we had known she was such a great ambassador for catering and hospitality.”

Schools involved were:

Chestnut Grove Academy
Graveney School
Southfields Academy
