ASSEMBLEY PRESENTATIONS

BITE SIZED

Pan Out employers have been attending schools in Wandsworth to provide presentations and talks to different student groups. These focus on offering a brief, bite-sized introduction to the sector. Presented in tandem with the Pan Out film, each employer talks from their own experience and offering up their perspective.

Approximately 1,500 students have benefited from these presentations across schools in Wandsworth.

Here’s a snippet from Johnathan de Beer, Rise London:

“Having chosen not to go to university I found that in hotels I could learn new skills and progress quickly by paying attention, asking questions and showing willing. This allowed me to make my way from a furniture porter to managing my first banqueting department within 3 years.

From there I chose to pursue the luxury end of the market and worked my way through to JW Marriott Grosvenor House, the largest hotel ballroom in all of Europe, where 7 days a week we would serve up to 2000 people sometimes twice in a day, all to the level a guest in a 5* hotel would expect.”

“Presentations at school assemblies is a great way to bring employers into schools and to reach a broad range of students. It servers up a great introduction to the sector and makes it come to life for the students.”
